The First Three Months of 2026
3-13-26
A worry-free day to you all, and thank you for reading.
There have been two major updates during these first few months of the new year which have seen my fingers glued to my keyboard. The first being the last book I finished in 2025 being assessed by my editor, and a preemptive run through of the manuscript where I stripped out the unmitigated use of filter words. Their notes will be coming in soon, and I cannot wait to dive back into that story again, and to make it into the best version it can be. The second update I have to share today is on my latest novel, which here I will refer to as Starry Eyes. Progress has been consistent thus far, with chapters coming along at a nice pace, as the first half of the story comes together.
Some of the things I set out to accomplish this year I still have yet to dip my pen back into, but the year is young yet. Another look at my first three books is planned, along with a second draft of the first book I wrote last year.
It is inevitable that as soon as Starry Eyes is finished that I will want to jump right into the next new story. But I may refrain from that this year, opting instead to throw polish and shine onto my previous completed works. It can be disheartening to see my backlog of finished novels continuing to go unread, but I love adding more novels to my library. I just love to write. Recently, I’ve began again to peruse the internet for an agent to represent me, though it is a process that I look forward to with as much zeal as the root canal I have planned for next month. Undoubtedly it is the weakest element I possess when it comes to the writing world, and is something that I also will try to whip into shape this year, or at the very least to try with more consistency.
I am constantly learning, growing, and evolving each year I add onto my journey to become a published author. But I am discovering resilience most of all, my limits of it, how it is nearly as important as writing the books themselves, and remembering that despite having nothing but my own manuscripts to show for all this time, blood, and love I’ve put into them, maybe that’s enough for now.
