Plans for 2026
1-17-26
This year I have even more huge plans, and it is looking to be one of the best years for my writing since I began in 2020.
The latest book I finished is going through my editor, then I’ll get another draft of it done, and I am hoping then to be able to perhaps pitch it at the Tennessee Writing Workshop in April.
Beyond that, I am looking at rereading the Vine Vein Trilogy, and then rewriting all three books. That will undoubtedly take up the majority of my time this year, but during that I also plan to continue plotting and outlining a brand new novel that would serve as yet another jumping off point for the Gatherer’s Bounty series. With multiple accessible points to get into the series I feel like that gives readers a really open and reader-friendly chance to get into my books starting from whichever one peaks their interest first. The Vine Vein Trilogy is technically the only books I’ve written direct sequels to, though all of my “one-offs” have sequel and series potential.
It’s been probably two years since I last read the Vine Vein books, so I am really looking forward to diving back into them. That does still leave the other book I wrote in 2025 to be reread and another draft written before that too is sent to my editor, so I may end up cracking that one back open this year too if time allows. That book takes place in my other series called Shifting Memory, and is the second book I’ve written in that universe, though the two have no correlation to one another.
In summation, I’ve no shortage of ideas, plans, and work for 2026, and while none of it is going to be easy or quick, I cannot wait to get it all done, and of course to share it all with you one day.
Thank you all for another year of your time and your readership,
JMB
